National Health Mission, J&K in collaboration with UNFPA & Sphere India organizes three day training programme on Minimum Initial Service Package for Sexual and Reproductive Health in Disaster in J&K

Jammu 14th July; State level orientation cum training workshops on Minimum
Initial Service Package for Sexual and Reproductive Health in Disaster in J&K for the
Chief Medical Officers, State Trainers ASHA Programme, District ASHA
Coordinators and District Programme Managers was initiated here at State
Health Society, Nagrota Jammu.
Dr. Yashpal Sharma, Mission Director, National Health Mission, J&K while
welcoming the participants’ in workshop thanked & expressed gratitude to the
team from UNFPA and Sphere India for providing support to State Health
Society for capacity building of manpower for any disaster which can change
life in an instant , destroying homes and communities, often leaving families
and individuals without basic necessities from food and water to hygiene
supplies, contraceptives and medical care and made them aware for the public
health issues like pregnancy related deaths, women experiencing obstetric
complications during any disaster. Dr Sharma also shared that the health
department had conducted various trainings for disaster in which other agencies
have supported in capacity building of manpower.
The resource persons for the training programme from UNFPA and Sphere
India comprised of Dr. Henna Hejazi, Program Manager Sphere India ; Dr.
Kapil Dev Singh Trainer PHFI, Dr. ItinderPal Singh Bali Trainer Sphere India.
Dr Harjeet Rai, Divisional Nodal Officer Jammu, Mr. Junaid Ahamd Zaroo,
Assistant Program Manager Trainings,Mr. Sadiq Khan ,State Trainer, Mr.
Jonson Chandel, State Trainer and officials of State Health Society J&K etc
were also present on the occasion.
