Two days workshop on review of MCH Guidelines Commences at Jammu

26th  December , Jammu:  Two days review cum orientation workshop organised by National Health Mission, J&K on Maternal & Child Health Guidelinescommences at Nagrota Jammu today. The inaugural session was attended by Dr Yashpal Sharma, Mission Director, NHM,J&K, Dr Baljeet  Pathainia, Director Health Services, Jammu.  & Dr. Baldev Sharma, Director Family Welfare, J&K.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Yashpal Sharma Mission Director NHM, J&K while giving brief introduction of various schemes under National Health Mission impressed upon the participants to keep themselves updated on the latest guidelines issued by Union Ministry of Health & Family welfare & State Health Society, J&K which are being circulated to the districts from time to time.

He stressed upon the officers to upload the mandatory disclosures on the website of State Health Society on various parameters like human resource under regular & NHM side, performance of health institutions, supportive supervision plan of officers at all the levels and progress on 102 ambulance & MMU’s for bringing transparency & accountability within the department. He also asked the CMOs to update their District Health Action Plans with the support of programme management unit staff in time bound manner for incorporating same in State Programme Implementation Plan of NHM for the FY 2015-16.

Dr Baljeet Pathania, Director Health Services, Jammu in his address appreciated the support provided by National Health Mission in creating better health infrastructure and service delivery through various programme & schemes from time to time. He emphasized CMOs/ BMOs to work with dedication and asked programme panangement units to support the Chief Medical Officers and Block Medical Officers for the providing better service delivery in coordinated manner.

Dr. Baldev Sharma, Director Family Welfare MCH & Immunization, asked the stakeholders to follow the latest guidelines on Maternal & Child Health for providing better patient care services in the State which would help in reducing maternal & child mortality in the State.

The Inaugural Session was followed by technical session for two days in which detailed presentations on review of Maternal & Child Health Guidelines are being made by Dr Harjeet Rai, Divisional Nodal Officer Jammu, Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad Dar,  Divisional Nodal Officer Kashmir, Dr Arun Sharma, Programme Manager, State Health Society, Dr. Younis Mushtaq Associate Programme Manager, Dr.Arshid Nazir Assistant Program Manager & Mr. Junaid Zaroo, Assistant Programme Manager State Health Society.

The workshop is being attended by Chief Medical Officers, Medical Superintendents, Dy. Chief Medical Officers, Block Medical Officers, Medical Officers, and District & Block Programme Management Units of district Ramban, Kishtwar and Doda.
