District Health Action Plans of Kashmir Division reviewed & finalized.”

Srinagar, 27 December: A meeting was held at National Health Mission Office Chanpora, Srinagar to discuss and finalize the District Health Action Plans submitted by District Health Societies of Kashmir Division for incorporating in State Programme Implementation Plan (SPIP) of National Health Mission, J&K for the FY 2015-16. The action plans were reviewed in presence of Dr Yashpal Sharma, Mission Director, NHM, J&K; Dr Saleem Ur Rehman, Director Health Services Kashmir & senior officers of Health Department & National Health Mission, J&K.
It was informed by Mission Director that Union Ministry of Health & Family welfare has anticipated an increase of 15 percent in the outlay for the next financial year and accordingly District Health Societies were asked to re submit their plan by 31st December 2014 without compromising on key evidence based interventions. It was also informed that Govt. is intending to launch National Health Assurance Mission which includes components of free essential drugs and diagnostics and comprehensive care. As part of preparatory activities, Districts were asked to plan for strengthening infrastructure facilities especially, the sub centres, drug ware houses and IT systems for drug logistics & supply chain.
He also stressed upon the officers to upload the mandatory disclosures on the website of State Health Society on various parameters like human resource under regular & NHM side, performance of health institutions, supportive supervision plan of officers at all the levels and progress on 102 ambulance & Mobile Medical Units for bringing transparency & accountability within the department.
Dr Saleem Ur Rehman Director Health Services, Kashmir directed the Chief Medical Officers to focus on the gap analysis being conducted in health institutions for PIP formulation so that the identified gaps can be filled for better patient care.
The meeting was attended by Dr Altaf Ahmad, Deputy Director (Hqrs), Dr Bashir Ahmad, Assistant Director Directorate of Health Services, Kashmir, Chief Medical Officers of Kashmir Division; Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad Dar, Divisional Nodal Officer, NHM, Kashmir; Programme Managers of State Health Society, and staff of District Programme Management Units of Kashmir province.
