Executive Committee of State Health Society meets to finalize the State Programme Implementation Plan 2015-16 of National Health Mission.”

Jammu, January 11; A meeting of Executive Committee of State Health Society, J&K was held under the Chairmanship of Mr. Gazzanfer Hussain, Commissioner/ Secretary to Govt. Health & Medical Education department to finalize the State Programme Implementation Plan of National Health Mission for the year 2015-16 at Jammu today. Mr. Gazzanfer took detailed Physical and Financial review of various ongoing schemes under National Health Mission and discussed the draft State Programme Implementation Plan (SPIP) for the next year with committee members before submitting to the Governing body of State Health Society for approval.
It was informed in the meeting by Dr Yashpal Sharma, Mission Director, NHM, J&K that a meeting was held under the Chairmanship of Mr. C.K. Mishra, Additional Secretary & Mission Director (NHM) Union Ministry of Health & Family Welfare to discuss the planning process for 2015-16 through Video Conferencing on 6th January 2015 which was attended by Mission Directors along with the State planning teams of the State. It was informed in the meeting that the team of senior officers from MoHFW, GoI will review the PIP of the State from 19th to 21st January 2015 and the last date for Submission of SPIPs by States has been fixed on 31st January 2015.
The draft plan which was presented before Executive Committee for approval by State Health Society has been prepared after getting inputs from District Health Societies, Principal GMC Jammu/ Srinagar, Director General of Indian System of Medicine , Director Health Services Jammu/ Kashmir, & Director Family welfare, MCH & Immunization for which series of meetings were conducted in both the divisions of State in the month of December 2014. The unique feature of Programme Implementation Plan for the FY 2015-16 is that, it also includes recommendations made on the basis of collection of the scientific electronic data that was obtained after conducting the gap analysis in health institutions of the State during last six months and has been finalized to the tune of Rs 649.87 Crore, Dr Sharma added.
The Committee reviewed the individual proposals of Govt. Medical Colleges, Directorates of Health/ Family Welfare and various programmes of NHM and approval was granted for their incorporation in the State Programme Implementation Plan of FY 2015-16 with minor changes as per guidelines of the schemes. Stressing on the need for coordinated efforts to achieve better results, Commissioner/ Secretary called for timely completion of various on-going projects and judiciously use of unspent funds and directed for uniform scale of honorarium for different categories of staff across the entire Centrally Sponsored Schemes of Health department including Disease Control Programmes. The Director Health Services Jammu/ Kashmir, Director Family Welfare and Director General ISM were asked to provide the remaining inputs in 2 days to State Health Society, so that after SPIP 2015-16 is completed and revised by team of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, GoI is placed before Governing Body State Health Society for approval and submission to MOH&FW, GoI The meeting was attended by Dr Ghansham Dev, Principal GMC Jammu;Dr Saleem Ur Rehman, Director Health Services Kashmir; Dr Baljeet Pathania, Director Health Services Jammu; Dr Baldev Raj Sharma, Director Family Welfare, MCH & Immunization; Sh. Showkat A. Bhat, Director Finance Department; Dr G N Itoo, Mission Director ICDS; Dr Kaiser Ahmad, Prof. & HoD Paediatrics, GMC, Srinagar; Controller Drugs & Food Control Organization; Dr. Shazia Wafi, Regional Director (H&FW), GoI; Ms. Satvir Kour, Director (P&S), State Health Society; Sh. Zahoor Wani, Director Finance Health & Medical Education Department; Joint Director (Plg) H&ME; Programme Mangers of State Health Society and other Senior Officers of allied departments.
