Use Helpline for Complaints against Government Doctors etc.

It is notified for the information of general Public that the Government haveprescribed following fee structure for Government doctors who are allowed private practice under rules:

  • Assistant Surgeons / Dental Surgeons with MBBS / BDS Rs. 50/
  • Assistant Surgeons with PG and above qualification / Lecturer Medical / Dental College Rs. 75
  • B-Grade Specialist / Assistant Professor Medical / Dental College Rs. 100/
  • Associate Professor / Professor / Medical/Dental College A-Grade Specialist and special scale Specialist Rs. 150/.

The following doctors are not allowed to practice:

  • All doctors of SKIMS, Soura Srinagar.
  • Principal of Government Medical / Dental Colleges.
  • Directors of Health Services / Family Welfare / ISM
  • Medial Supdts. / Dy. Medical Supdts. of all Hospitals.
  • Dy. Directors / Assistant Directors / CMOs / Dy. CMOs / BMOs of Health and Family Welfare Department and equivalents holding Administrative posts.

The fee will be valid for two weeks with total of three visits. All the concerned doctors are bound to adhere to the above fixed fee structure.To facilitate registration of complaints regarding overcharging of doctors fee or resorting to practice by doctors who are not permitted to do so as elucidated above. Helplines facilities have been created in different offices of Head of the Departments where the aggrieved citizens can register his / her complaint on telephone numbers. The aggrieved persons are advised to register complaint which shall be passed to the complaint cell for verification and report within 48 hour:

These helpline can also be used for other complaints like unauthorized absence of doctors / paramedics from the Health institutions, non-availability of drugs, poor sanitation etc. The Government is keen to improve the conditions of the health institutions and this feedback will help in addressing the issue in a more effective manner. If not satisfied with the enquiry, the complainant can approach Secretary to Government Health and Medical education Department with specific complaint phone No. 0191-2546334 or by post. Success of helpline lies in correct and genuine complaints. The purpose will be defeated, if the same is used for settling personal grudges or launching unnecessary campaign against any doctor. All the responsible citizens are requested to make use of helpline so that better accountability could be enforced in the department and adherence to prescribed fee structure by Government doctors who are allowed private practice is followed in Urban as well as in rural areas of the State.
